During CES 2023 in Las Vegas, the BYD automobile group presented its luxury brand January. It also introduced the U8 high-end SUV. Four-wheel drive, 1100 horsepower, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds… The brand has done it again, presenting the U9, an equally powerful hypercar!
Electric supercar U9
Supercar U9 should make a splash, both visually and performance-wise. The sporty look is provided not only by the lowered front hood, but also by the curved C-shaped headlights with small insert LEDs. It’s hard to remain indifferent!

The teardrop-shaped roofline ends with a continuous light strip at the rear. A large rear diffuser stands out below. January doesn’t reveal much technical data yet, but one thing is for sure, the supercar will be based on the E-4 platform. The supercar uses all-wheel drive: because each wheel is driven by an electric motor, as the name “E-4” suggests. The quartet must deploy system power 800 kW or 1100 hp and allow U9 exceed from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds! If these numbers are true, this supercar would become one of the best in its class, ahead of a Tesla Model S poster Example !
Not much additional information
We do not yet know more precise details about the power of the various engines, as well as the battery size and autonomy. It is also unknown if and when the manufacturer will release its super sports car for the race in France. For the BYD Yangwang U9, the manufacturer announces a price of one million yuan or thereabouts 137,500 euros “only”.
