The current Volkswagen Golf has been on the market for three years. A launch that is starting to gain momentum for the compact car, which has since overtaken the Peugeot 208 as Europe’s best-selling car in 2022. Is the star of the German brand resting on its laurels, what he had so far dominated in European market ? Hard to say. But in any case, it no longer achieves the success of past years, although it even allows to overtake its younger brother, T-Roc. But she obviously has no intention of letting it go.

Restyling in 2024
It’s been a while since we hear about a restyling for German compact. However, the manufacturer has not yet confirmed anything, as this topic remains quite mysterious. But now the latter finally decided to say a little more. Indeed, the boss of the Wolfsburg brand, Thomas Schaefer, recently gave an interview to the German newspaper Autobild. An opportunity for him to discuss the future of the brand, and, above all, to confirm what is current volkswagen golf 8 will really have the right to restyling. However, he does not provide any details about him yet.
New engines
But then, what developments are planned for this new version? Truth be told, we still know very little. But everything suggests that the model range of engines will develop, with a block 1.4 eHybrid whose power will increase from 245 to 260 hp, while the 1.5 TSI will increase to 215 hp. Aesthetic improvements are also planned, but we’ll have to wait before we know a little more. We hope that these developments will allow the compact to return to the spotlight!
