
Like its predecessor, the new generation BMW 3 Series now offers a new version BMW M3CS more dynamic, located halfway between the M3 Competition and the 3.0 CSL. So this new version offers more power and a little slimmer M3.
Bad news, however, for fans of the German brand, this more powerful BMW M3 CS (for “Competition Sport”) is now equipped with All-wheel drive xDriveunlike the previous opus with movement.

BMW M3 CS: easy turns
From an aesthetic point of view, the new BMW M3 CS is inspired by the recipe already presented in the M4 CSL: more muscular, its radiator grille is now surrounded by a red circle, and the front bumper has a new carbon plate that juts out ostentatiously from the sides. The kit is completed by black multi-spoke wheels, 19 inches in the front and 20 inches in the rear.
To allow reduce your weight by about 20 kg compared to the M3 Competition M xDrive, the CS features carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) on the hood, air intakes or rear spoiler, while on board the center console and bucket seats are upholstered in black leather with red stitched carbon fiber trim. The titanium muffler also provides a better exhaust sound while saving a few extra kilos.
BMW M3 CS: 550 horsepower under the hood
Technically, the BMW M3 CS is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine developed here. 550 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, which is 40 additional horses compared to the M3 Competition, but still 10 horsepower less than the 3.0 CSL version. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is absorbed 3.4 secondsfor a top speed of 302 km/h: for comparison, it is electronically limited to 250 km/h for other BMW M3s.
This cavalry is sent to all-wheel drive through an eight-speed automatic transmission, and several driving modes allow you to control the distribution of torque for greater dynamics. Custom engine mounts and active suspension are also present, and this one has been recalibrated to improve its handling.
BMW M3 CS: only 73 examples!
If you’re interested in this new BMW M3 CS, you’ll have to act fast! Indeed, it will be produced as a limited edition for only one year, until February 2024, and until 1800 copies Worldwide. In France, only 73 units will offer BMW!
On the price side, you will have to count the entrance ticket 157,000 eurosexcluding options, that’s around €50,000 more than the M3 Competition M xDrive: quite a compelling price knowing that the model will be hit with the heaviest environmental fine, adding €50,000 to the final bill… Production will start in Munich, Germany, from March 2023.
