Anyone can get caught speeding, even if you are a great driver and always pay attention and follow the speed limit. No one is safe, not even law enforcement, who also have to play by the rules, contrary to what many think. Indeed, the police and gendarmes, like all citizens, can too get flash and get a ticket. Except in some emergencies, provided that flashing lights and sirens are on and, above all, if there is a good reason for doing so. What was missing in the story we are telling you today…
An automatic speed camera on the RD 137 in St Sulpice d’Arnoult has been terrorizing drivers in recent days, flashing as they obey the speed limit!
This radar was undergoing maintenance. Therefore, there will be no verbalization. Thanks to the whistleblowers!– Gendarmerie of Primorsky Charante (@Gendarmerie_017) September 16, 2021
Numerous offenses
This is happening in Ile and Vilen. The gendarme, whose identity has not been released, recently had his driver’s license revoked by the prefecture. A decision recently confirmed by the Rennes Administrative Court. But how is it done? Well, the peacekeeper in question would, without his knowledge, be illuminated by the radar located in the the city of Lutre-Dompierre, on the departmental road that connects Vitre with Fougères. But this is not the only reason. Indeed, this radar tower had already recorded several speeding tickets, and then the gendarme discovered that his balance of points was zero.
Confirmed decision
And yetinvalidating his license would never have been communicated to him, as he himself testifies. Defending himself without a lawyer, the accused then stated that he did not know that the radar was present at the site and challenged the cancellation procedure, which he was never informed about. That wasn’t enough to convince the judge, so he upheld the verdict. A decision strongly criticized by the director concerned, who claims that ” the decision (…) seriously and immediately harms my personal and professional situation: I am a police officer and I really need a driver’s license. »
