Repair: which brands have increased in price the most? News from Auto Plus in your smartphone News from Auto Plus in your mailbox

At the beginning of the year, it is difficult to name something that has not increased in value. Tolls, fuel and even insurance – owning your own car is getting more and more expensive. But also fix it. Indeed, according to the SRA (Automobile Safety and Repair) report published a few days ago, the cost of maintenance will increase dramatically in 2022, from 7.9% growth compared to 2021. A trend that varies depending on the type of operation, while the workforce for bodywork, for example, grew by 6.2% in just one year. But not all brands are the same in this matter.

Many disagreements

Indeed, not all manufacturers raised the prices of their spare parts in the same way. Opel, for example, broke all records with an incredible growth of 20.33%. The German company is followed by another brand of the Stellantis group, Fiat, with a growth of 17.90%. Finally comes Mazda with an increase of 16.5%. Peugeot, DS or even Citroën customers aren’t much better either, although prices have also risen sharply in recent months compared to last year. Overall, coin prices are up 8.2% for the full year and 10.9% over the last quarter.

Some are smart

Fortunately, there are a few builders who have remained wise. This is especially true for BMW, which raised prices “only” by 4.96%. The same in Mercedes with growth of 3.19%. Surprisingly, the prize went not to Dacia (+2.95%), but to Mini, with a small, very restrained growth of only 1.26%. Quite surprising for a brand with a fairly high positioning.
