Mercedes-AMG One: discreet livery
The German manufacturer has just published the photos the first copy of the Mercedes-AMG One, rolled off the assembly line at a factory in Coventry, UK. The model will be delivered to Germanyif those personalized number plates ending in “ON 1” are to be believed.
This first Mercedes-AMG One is fitted with a rather understated black dress that nevertheless gives it the look of a modern Batmobile. There are several F1 cues, such as the air intake surrounded by red on the roof, those star logos on the sides at the back, or these the keys are green which echo the colors of Petronas, Mercedes’ sponsor in the competition. The AMG logo is painted in white on the front grille.
Mercedes-AMG One: the first production unit is released
The Mercedes-AMG One is equipped with a hybrid enginederived from the Formula 1 used by Mercedes in competition in 2016, but homologated for the road: under its hood is a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine, signed by Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains, and linked to no less than 4 motors with an electric drive.
In total, the car develops power 1064 horsepower, which screams to 11,000 rpm! What to swallow from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, cross the 200 km/h mark in 6 seconds and 300 km/h in less than 11 seconds, for a top speed of over 350 km/h. … Impressive technical description.
Mercedes-AMG One: Nürburgring champion
Even before its release, the model has broke many recordssuch as the fastest Nürburgring North Loop lap time for a production car of just 6 minutes 35 seconds and 183 thousandths, 8 seconds better than the previous record held by the meticulously prepared Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
Mercedes also brought its latest achievement to the Hockenheimring, Germany, as well as the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, where it also broke all records. Not bad for a road-approved production car… but with a Formula 1 engine!
