Peugeot opens for CES 2023 in Las Vegas is a new concept christened ” The beginning of Peugeot“. already published very partially last December, this time the Sochaux brand is showing its prototype in broad daylight! And the French manufacturer uses the main event of the beginning of the year, the Consumer Electronics Show, to present its gem of technology.

Intended for predicting future electric models from the brand to the lion, the Peugeot Inception Concept reminds us of some sketches from the past… while showing the lion’s ambitions for the future!

Iconic design for the Peugeot concept

It is impossible to notice at first glance. From the very beginning, the Peugeot Inception concept reminds us of the well-known silhouette, the silhouette Peugeot e-Legend ! To see more clearly, you need to go back almost 5 years, to September 2018. Then the French presented theirs with great fanfare new 508 salon. But then the star of the show became the e-Legend concept, which itself was inspiredcult coupe 504 !

Thus, the Peugeot Inception contains many elements of the previous concept. We find the same silhouette of the sedan coupe, elegant and slender. However, there are many updated details. Everything is much more straight, clean and corner. The concept inherits more than nature. The lines contrast with the previous concept, and the whole thing bears little resemblance to a pale neo-retro copy of the 504 of yesteryear.

The entire front grille is unique and immediately makes us think of the front endHypercar 9×8plan to do 24 Hours of Le Mans This year. The electrics oblige, we find a full radiator grille and a typical Peugeot light sign with three horizontal claws. At the back, the neckline is very open, slanted. The brand name is proudly displayed in red “3D” behind the tinted glass. Another recognizable element is the huge 20-inch wheels with a revolutionary design. Do they tell you something? Under the name “Aerorim” they are borrowed from the last 408 introduced a few months ago.

Finally, when viewed from above, the concept reveals a huge glass roof that flows into the windshield. The latter also ends its race very far, almost aft, and sinks in front of the radiator grille.

A new specific platform

With this new concept, Peugeot wants to demonstrate the full potential of its next electric cars. The Peugeot Inception is based, in particular, on the STLA Large platform, which offers a low sedan design of only 1.34 m in height. The length is 5 meters.

In terms of motorization, it is obviously 100% electric. In general, thanks to two engines on the front and rear axles, the concept gets 680 hp. (500 kW). All this cavalry accelerates the car to almost 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds.

Thanks to the 100 kWh battery, the Peugeot Inception can theoretically travel up to 800 km. The Lion even claims consumption figures reduced to 12.5kWh per 100km. The battery is charged, which is equivalent to 30 km of range in one minute or 150 km in five minutes. The car also offers induction charging.
