Electric bicycles: extended and enhanced purchase assistance
In order to popularize household appliances and give a boost to the most disadvantaged French people, the aid for the purchase of an electric bicycle (bonus and conversion bonus) has already been increased from August 15, 2022 to December 31, 2022. This help will be once again extended to 2023.
To encourage more French people to buy bicycles, the thresholds of acceptability are increasing with 1Er January 2023: They will now cover the lowest 50% of households (with income per share of less than €14,089, compared to €13,489 previously) and 20% for extended assistance (income per share of less than €6,358, compared to €6,300 previously) .

Electric bicycles: extended environmental bonus
In 2023, the environmental bonus for the purchase of a VAE (bike with an electric drive) is from 200 euros to 400 euros maximum. It is provided for the purchase of a new bicycle with electric support, provided that the income:
- 150 euros for a bicycle without assisted pedaling, for an income less than or equal to 6358 euros or a person with a disability;
- 300 euros for a bicycle with assisted pedaling, if the income does not exceed 14,089 euros;
- 400 euros for a bicycle with assisted pedaling, for income less than or equal to 6,358 euros or a person with a disability.
To purchase a cargo bikee-bike trailer or bicycle adapted for people with disabilities, the environmental bonus is now A maximum of 2,000 euros (€1,000 for legal entities), if the income does not exceed €6,358, or for a person with a disability.
Electric bikes: Increased conversion bonus
For the purchase of a new or used bicycle with an electric drive conversion bonus increases by 1500 euros to 3000 euros maximum. It is provided in exchange for handing in an old car. Cargo bikes, adapted bikes and e-bike trailers are accepted.
IN low emission zones (ZFE), the state provides an additional bonus equivalent to any aid paid by the local authority, up to €1,000. The conversion bonus applies to the purchase of a bicycle per person in a household with the same maximum amount for each bicycle.
To take advantage of this assistance, you must submit a request on the website: primealaconversion.gouv.fr within six months of the date of purchase of the bicycle, which is indicated on the invoice.
