When a manufacturer introduces a new car, it is usually photographed in a color that often evokes desire. And bright colors have been in trend for some time, as for the Skoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV, which produces a fluorescent green color. A choice that can be confusing, but which will not go unnoticed. More soberly, this also applies Peugeot 308, presented in a very beautiful dark green color, or the 208, whose standard color is Faro Yellow. However, when walking down the street, it is difficult to see these colors on cars. But how is it done? Well, it would seem that motorists do not like these colors.

gray color dominates
Indeed, as shown by a study conducted by the company Axalta, an American automotive paint manufacturer, buyers are actually quite cautious. Result, the most popular color in Europe is gray, which is 27% of sales. Then comes black and then white. Blue ranks 4th, followed by a more silver-gray and red. Then orange comes last, although this color is still quite rare. Only a few manufacturers offer it, for example Renault on the Clio and Arkana. In the rest of the world, white is most popular in the US, Africa and Asia.
Beware customers
The result, no less Gray cars make up 70% of the European market. All this is not very happy, but it also happens everywhere on other continents. And the reason is quite simple: resale. It’s really easier to find a buyer for a sober-colored car than, for example, if it were dressed in green or yellow. And it’s a shame! This is why certain brands, such as Peugeot, offer bright colors as standard. So you have to pay for the option of having gray or white… smart!
