Fuel discount: how will it work from January 1? News from Auto Plus in your smartphone News from Auto Plus in your mailbox

This was one of the government’s major mitigation measures rapid increase in fuel prices, “fuel discount”. This one created from 1Er April released the French from 18, and then from 30 centimes per liter until November 15. It has now been changed to 10 cents and will be valid until December 31. From 1Er January in contrast the system changes and the discount becomes a “fuel allowance”. But then what will change and who will it affect?

Fuel: for whom?

As the government announced, it will gradually reduce its contribution to the cost of fuel. It is for this reason that only the fuel surcharge will apply 10 million workers with the lowest incomes. Especially for those who commute to work by car or two-wheeler. This will apply families earning less than 22,040 euros per year.

Fuel: how much?

She is fixed at 100 euros for the whole of 2023 paid per person rather than per household, so for a couple living in the same household, each would be able to receive compensation of €100.

How to benefit from this?

There is also a change here as this reduction will no longer happen automatically at the pump as before. It will be necessary should request it on site impots.gouv.fr.

Reported:

  • your tax number
  • The license plate your car
  • AND statement under oath which certifies that you must use your car to travel to work

The aid will then be paid directly to your bank account without any further action.

Until December 31?

Therefore, you can still take advantage of the fuel discount until December 31 gasoline and diesel. It is 10 cents in metropolitan France, 9.42 cents in Corsica and 8.33 cents in overseas departments and regions (Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Reunion, Mayotte).

There is no procedure to be taken, the reduction is done directly at the pump. The rates displayed already take this reduction into account.
