Honda Civic: it’s a hit in the impulse test! News from Auto Plus in your smartphone News from Auto Plus in your mailbox

Honda officially lifted the curtain on its all-new Civic last year. The eleventh generation of the Japanese compact car, introduced in April 2021 and already on the market. A few months later, the version R-type a well-chosen range with significantly improved specifications was also introduced. Of course, to the delight of enthusiasts. Because the sports car is still very popular among Asian car lovers, even though it is one of the last representatives of its kind today. But the option we are interested in today is the classic option, which is now being talked about again, forever, don’t worry.

A demanding test

Indeed, after receiving very good marks during the EuroNCAP crash tests, the Japanese compact car had to face another test, a completely different one. And for good reason, this is a test of impulse. Little known in France, this method is more commonly practiced in Scandinavian countries, where large animals crossing roads at night are usually avoided. So this test is simply a quick evasive maneuver at speed 77 km/h. Thus, it makes it possible to evaluate the dynamic qualities of the car, which can sometimes save lives in individual cases. The goal? So that no cone is hit by the vehicle during the test.

Mission accomplished!

But how did the new one fare then Honda Civic ? Well, she did amazingly well, as shown in a video shot by the KM77 crew. The compact car actually accelerated to 77 km/h, unlike other models such as the BMW M4 Coupe. The record still belongs to the Ford Focus, but also Tesla Model Y and the Model 3, which still managed to reach a speed of 83 km/h. Suffice it to say, it should be pretty impressive!
