As we’ve seen in the past, wet or even wet roads and a car with rear-wheel drive architecture don’t always mix well… But overall, incidents occur when exiting corners. In this case, the BMW seen in the video below didn’t even need to turn pick up and find yourself in a lamppost installed on the side of the road!
You don’t even need an M3!
Since its inception, from the first generation that appeared in 1975 to the latest G20 with its internal code name, The 3 Series has always put engine power first on the rear axle. This is also part of its charm. No matter what’s under the hood, be it 4, 6 or even 8 cylinders, Series 3 is quite capable of driving sideways. You don’t even need an M3 for this! Especially when the coating is wet. What could the driver of this E92 generation coupe notice…
Third time is too much…
What happened to this 3 series to finish its race in a lamppost while driving in a straight line? If you pay a little attention to the images below, you will quickly get an idea of how things unfolded. At the exit, the red light turned green, apparently the German driver pressed the gas pedal a little too much. As a result, the rear axle lost traction. Obviously the driver knew what he was doing, or at least he thought so… Indeed, he recovers his car the first time, then the second time, but on the third stroke of the racket he does not manage to maintain control and it is an accident. Surely he will be gentler with the accelerator next time?
