Mazda presented the outlines of its electrification strategy: indeed, the firm wants to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and to do so, it is transforming its factories to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035.
Like many market players, Mazda will also accelerate the marketing of electrified vehicles: by 2030, sales of electric models should reach 25 to 40% of the brand’s total sales.
Mazda Vision Study: the future of the brand in photos
On the occasion of the presentation of this strategy, the Japanese manufacturer published an image of a new model called Mazda Vision Research. Dressed in a flawless white dress, this coupe has particularly smooth and athletic lines reminiscent of the Mazda MX-5.
Indeed, if the latter is best known as a convertible, there were also versions with a hard roof called RF (from “Retractable Fastback”). But the lines of this concept are also reminiscent of the brand’s legendary coupes, such as the Mazda RX-7 or RX-8.

Mazda Vision Study: a coupe with clean lines
Despite these very futuristic curves, there is a family resemblance to the sports models from Mazdalike that long, deep hood, those curved fenders, or that impressive stern with rather wide hips.
The light signature at the rear consists of two half-circles that share a family resemblance to the current Miata. At the front, there is an updated grille, as well as retractable headlights, which, however, will have little chance to see the light of day in production.
Mazda Vision Study: 100% electric motor?
Under the hood, this concept should be based on a 100% electric motorization, even if the technical passport was not transferred. At the moment, we still do not officially know whether the future MX-5 or the new coupe successor of the Mazda RX family will be born.
About future generation Mazda MX-5it is currently under development, and according to a recent statement from the Hiroshima brand representative, it should continue to offer a heat engine for the time being!
