
While the Italian firm has just unveiled the new 100% electric Abarth 500e, another model is making its debut on the other side of the globe:Abarth Pulse. Based on the Fiat Pulse, it the first SUV of the Abarth brandwhich is entirely designed, manufactured and marketed in Brazil.
Models signed by the scorpion are not the first for the country: in fact, we already found the Stilo Abarth in 2002, as well as the famous Abarth 500 in 2014. Today, Abarth celebrates its return to the Latin American market with new model.
Abarth Pulse: sporty style
Aesthetically, the Abarth Pulse differs from the Fiat signature version with the sporty look we recognize for it specific front bumper equipped with side buckets, a front grille with an original pattern, Abarth badges, 17-inch black alloy wheels or even red keys on the front bumper, mirror caps, center wheel cover or side stickers. Its ground clearance is 217 mm, but the Italian manufacturer claims to have reduced roll by 10% for better dynamics.
There is a filling inside black leatherettewhich contrasts with red line, which can be found on the seats, front center armrest, steering wheel or even the gear lever cover. The Abarth scorpion logo is everywhere on board, and the instrument panel has also received a red insert to remind of the sporty nature of the model. A 10.1-inch connected infotainment touchscreen is standard, while a 7-inch digital display acts as a handset in front of the driver.

Abarth Pulse: 185 horsepower engine
Under the hood we find the T270 petrol engine, which is a 1.3 liter turbocharged engine from 185 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. What to swallow Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, for a maximum speed of 215 km/h. At least three modes of movement are available: normal, manual and Poison. The latter is available via a red button on the steering wheel and improves the car’s response for a sportier drive.
To improve it dynamic behavior, Abarth offered it a special gearbox calibration, a 13% stiffer suspension, a special anti-roll bar on the front axle, and 15% more torsional stiffness at the rear. The Abarth Pulse is also equipped with a sports exhaust system specific, with a raspy sound that pays tribute to the brand’s heritage in the field.
Abarth Pulse: not for us
The Abarth Pulse is available to order from November 17, 2022 in Brazil starting at BRL 149,990, equivalent toabout 26,800 euros. This model is intended for Latin America and should not be sold in our regions where the Scorpion brand aims to become 100% electric.
To accompany the launch of its new model, Abarth has invested in its Brazilian dealer network, which should soon include 60 retail outletscommon in all regions and in most states of Brazil.
