
Like Volkswagen’s California, Mercedes’ ‘Marco Polo’ name evokes travel and outdoor recreation, and refers to a range of equipped vans and motorhomes based on the German manufacturer’s off-road vehicles.
In a few weeks, Mercedes is preparing to present a concept car that will be the prototype of a 100% electric compact van: Mercedes Concept EQT Marco Polo. It will be launched on December 2, 2022 and will be based on the Mercedes EQT, which is nothing but a 100% electric version of the Mercedes T-Class, itself an MPV based on the latest generation Renault Kangoo.

Presented German manufacturer photo as a teaser of this concept car of the future: what we find is not the EQT Marco Polo Concept, but a Mercedes V-Class Marco Polo parked on the lakefront with a retractable roof, next to which is a sign that says “reserved for the EQT Marco Polo Concept.”
Contrary to what its name might suggest, the Mercedes Concept EQT Marco Polo is supposed to be a marketing harbinger of a production model due to launch in the second half of 2023. It 100% electric camper will ride the wave of recreational vehicles and offer a “zero emission” alternative to outdoor recreation.

Mercedes Concept EQT Marco Polo: preview at the Düsseldorf Motor Show
According to Mercedes, the Marco Polo EQT concept will have a flexible module which can be installed and removed in an instant: this will allow users of the model to use their car for work or daily commuting, while still being able to go on adventures with it on weekends or during vacations.
This removable module will contain a double bed and a kitchen furnitureand there’s a good chance it’ll be the same detachable module that powers the Mercedes T-Class Marco Polo recently unveiled at the 2022 Dusseldorf Caravan Salon.

Mercedes Concept EQT Marco Polo will be equipped with batteries built into the floor, which will ensure a low center of gravity, which will contribute to driving comfort.
Mercedes Concept EQT Marco Polo will be officially presented on 11 Friday, December 2, 2022, during a presentation to be held at 2 p.m. A production model, to be called the Mercedes EQT Marco Polo, should hit the market in the meantime the second half of 2023.
