Thus, the government continues the discount of 30 centimes/l at gas stations until mid-November.@TotalEnergies also extends its discount of 20 centimes/l for the same period. pic.twitter.com/u7EdYWGliB

The situation for motorists in the last few months was far from simple. Indeed, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, which is still ongoing, the price of fuel has been very high. So much so that sometimes at some service stations it exceeded the mark of 2.50 euros, and we still come across pumps that show more than 2 euros a liter. But that’s not all, because drivers also had to deal with a fuel shortage that lasted for almost a month and the effects of which have now almost completely subsided. But prices are still very high, despite the 30 cent discount still offered by the government. And, unfortunately, it shouldn’t get better right away.

Gasoline is getting more expensive
Indeed, if for a few weeks the prices decreased a little, now they are starting to rise again. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Eco-Transition unleaded standard 95 is displayed at €1.68 per litre, which is about one cent per week. For its part, unleaded 95 E10 costs €1.92, up two cents over the same period. Finally, the unleaded 98 is listed at €1,722, an amount that has also increased slightly. The price of diesel fell very slightly, while it averaged €1.83, or three cents a month, compared to a week ago. The price has also fallen 9 cents since mid-October.
.
The discount will end soon
If prices remain high, they should unfortunately start to rise again in the coming weeks. Indeed, the government is indeed canceling the 30 centime discount, and this is from November 16. After that date, the discount will only be 10 cents before it becomes final canceled on December 31. It’s the same at TotalEnergies, which is currently offering a small 20-cent boost that can be combined with the government’s. It will also increase to 10 cents in the coming days.
Europe has agreed to phase out the use of heat engines by 2035. However, the fuel tax is an important source of revenue for the French state. https://t.co/M17WH4kOC3
