When the German company launchedAudi E-tron in 2019, its large SUV became the first fully electric car in the Audi lineup. Since then, the releases have followed each other, and the name “E-tron” has come to accompany the model names to indicate their electric version, as for example on the Audi Q4 E-tron and Q4 Sportback E-tron.

To avoid further confusion,Audi E-tronas well as its SUV version called Coupé E-tron Sportbackwill adopt a new name on the occasion of its restyling, which will be presented on November 9, 2022 : then the models will become Audi Q8 E-tron and Audi Q8 Sportback E-tron !

Restyled Audi Q8 E-tron: the first teasers

The firm with the four rings announced the release of the new Audi Q8 E-tron series via social media, teaser video which reveals some details of the model as well as a teaser photo where we discover the silhouettes of the two models of the Q8 E-tron family, still hidden in the darkness.

In the video we can also see, for example, the LED lights at the front and at the back, design details such as the chrome edging of the side windows of the Sportback version or their glazed sunroof.

In fact, it is safe to bet that this Audi E-tron prototype hides behind its color camouflage the final version of the updated Audi Q8 E-tron: the model should receive a new, more aggressive front end, revised front lighting design. as well as the rear end, not to mention the redesigned rear apron for more sportiness.

Audi Q8 E-tron facelift: the complete family of E-tron models

At the moment, Audi has not released any official information about the restyled Audi Q8 E-tron, other than its electricity consumption : SUV version Q8 E-tron reflects consumption from 20.1 to 24.4 kWh/100 km on the WLTP combined cycle, while the SUV Coupe version Q8 Sportback E-tron reflects consumption from 19.5 to 24.1 kW/100 km according to the WLTP combined cycle.

In future, 100% electric range will expand rapidly, with the upcoming arrival of the Audi Q6 E-tron, such as the Audi A6 Avant E-Tron, not forgetting the Audi Q5 E-tron, which is currently reserved for Asia. Although Audi has announced that it will only produce 100% electric models from 2026, the German manufacturer’s entire lineup will eventually carry the “E-Tron” name.
