However, many cyclists campaign for an increase in the speed limit. But does this have a chance of success? May be. Indeed, for example in the United States, a model limited to 25 km/h here will be limited to 20 mph there, ie. approximately 32 km/h. A small increase that makes a difference. This already applies to several bikes that can reach such speeds on American roads, which is a big advantage for users.

Some disadvantages

However, this increase in speed can also have some drawbacks. Indeed, it is clear that it can be more dangerous, as the cyclist is not protected by any bodywork, and a collision at 32 km/h can be dramatic, especially in collision with a car. Therefore, it is important to be alert and be visible under all circumstances. In addition, a higher speed also corresponds to an increase in consumption. Recharging will have to be done more often, or the bikes will have to be equipped with a battery with a larger capacity. And the weight will increase accordingly.
