Until then, it was the cheapest electric car on the market. This is of course the Dacia Spring, launched last year when it was supposed to be presented to the public for the first time at the Paris Motor Show 2020. Unfortunately, it was canceled due to the outbreak of Covid-19. But it doesn’t matter, because the city car is now very successful, occupying very high positions in the ranking of the best-selling models on the market today. It should be said that it has many arguments, starting with the unbeatable price. But while brands are suffering from price increase raw materials and semiconductor shortages, they must raise prices.

Sharp rise
So the budget city car will not be affected by this sudden increase as its entry level version is called Necessary will take 1000 euros. As such, it will feature an entry ticket of €20,800, up from just €16,990 when it launched last year. The spring has already risen, reaching €17,690 last March. But that’s not all, as the Expression trim will rise by €800 to €22,100. A sharp increase, which should not please everyone. And this is even if the amount of the environmental bonus also increases, rising to 5,616 euros for the Essential version and 5,967 euros for the Expression trim. Thus, a city car starts at 15,184 euros, including assistance.
.
The entire assortment was concerned
But not only the city car suffers from this inflation. Indeed, the entire range has unfortunately suffered, whereas Dacia Sandero EUR 500 should be taken from next November 3. A €600 increase is then planned for the Jogger, while the Duster is due to rise by €1,000, as is the Spring. Suffice it to say, this hike shouldn’t sit well with customers of the budget brand…
