Volvo EX90: simplified driver’s position
Indeed, Volvo wanted to simplify the driving experience of its new EX90 with a more streamlined interior that focuses on the essentials so as not to distract the driver or create confusion while driving:
“The challenge is to give you the right information at the right time. We want your driving experience to be easy, safe and distraction-free. Volvo EX90: two screens to control everything
In the cabin of the future 100% electric SUV Volvo EX90, we find in the center of the instrument panel large vertical touch screen, which provides quick access to GPS navigation, multimedia system and functions of your phone, as well as controls and other useful functions while driving. Depending on the situation, the contextual banner displays the most relevant information and actions for the situation: they facilitate actions whether you are parked, driving or on the phone.
In front of the driver there is a second, smaller screen that plays a role combination of devices located right behind the steering wheel. This displays useful driving information such as vehicle speed, range, driver assistance functions or GPS navigation route. After switching to assisted driving mode or normal driving mode, all the information required for this function is displayed on the screen.
Volvo EX90: intelligent on-board system
The future Volvo EX90 has a set of state-of-the-art sensors that allows you to offer full 360º overview of the environment car This makes it possible to control various driver assistance systems, assisted driving (semi-autonomous) or assist the driver in the event of imminent danger. The model already has the necessary components for autonomous driving without supervision, which will allow it to fully delegate tasks related to driving.
Volvo combines these internal and external vehicle detection systems with proprietary software running on the vehicle’s powerful central computing platform. Then the latter is able to understand any situation that surrounds him and provide information adapted to the circumstances.
The upcoming 100% electric Volvo EX90 will be official presented on November 9, 2022.
