For several months now, the government has been applying a discount on the price of fuel, which increased sharply at the beginning of the year, in particular due to the war in Ukraine. At first it was 18 cents, then it was increased to 30 cents from September 1 throughout France. One way to help motorists cope with rising inflation while the government still plans to cut taxes on gasoline and diesel fuel. But if this exceptional assistance was introduced in metropolitan France, fortunately, the government did not forget the overseas departments either.

Smaller discount
In Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana, in Reunion and Mayotte, so all motorists can benefit from a slight acceleration, which, however, remains slightly lower than in France. Indeed, then the discount is set at 25 cents in all the aforementioned departments. A small discount, which nevertheless helped many motorists, and prices in these territories also soared, as in mainland France. And good news: although the discount was supposed to be reduced from November 1, the 25 cent discount will also be extended until mid-November, as Prime Minister Elizabeth Bourne announced. There is something to cheer motorists, who bear the main burden price increase.
.
Gradual decline
As for mainland France, the discount will also disappear in overseas territories. But before that, it will gradually decrease, and from November it will fall to 8.33 eurocents per liter against 10 cents in France. It will then be removed at the end of December if the situation does not change. For its part, TotalEnergies will offer a 10-cent discount until December 31.
