And there’s something for everyone: compact, off-road, electric, thermal, premium or affordable… To best prepare for next year’s arrival, and with the Paris Motor Show fast approaching, here’s our pick 10 novelties that will mark the year 2023. To simplify things, we have excluded from our list the models that will receive a simple restyling. But the latter will also be many and important: Peugeot 208 and 2008, Renault Clio, etc.

Dacia Duster: An affordable adventurer up its game

Released in 2017, Dacia Duster II will take early retirement at the end of next year. Because of bad results? On the contrary, the highly affordable compact SUV is undoubtedly the star of the brand more than satisfactory sale. But Dacia has ambitions, and the latest one comes through the outgoing Duster a bit upscale.

To begin with, we start from the antediluvian platform that developed from Clio 2. The third generation Dacia Duster inherits the technical basis of the current Clio (CMF-B). On the key, of a lot of additional technological equipment, including an adaptive regulator. But there is no question of a sharp increase in prices, thanks in particular to the interior inspired by the recent Jogger, for example.

On the engine side, Duster III will give up diesel. In exchange, he will receiveRenault E-Tech hybrid, with dog clutch box and about 140 hp. The 4×4 version can also be replaced by a hybrid with a small engine in the rear to overcome poor traction situations. finally, the GPL and 1.2 TCe versions will be updated and modernized (light hybridization, etc.). See you at the end of 2023 at the long-awaited presentation!

Peugeot 3008: the winning team cannot be changed

Launched in 2016 Peugeot 3008 II delivered a hellish blow to the anthill of compact SUVs. Sharp styling, an impressive interior, a chassis with small bulbs, it largely dominated the competition, and in particular the Renault Kadjar.

But recently, the Renault empire has counterattacked with the Arkana SUV coupe in iron condition and the Austral, which wants to erase the weak points of the Kadjar. In a word, the new 3008 will not be able to rest on its laurels.

He will also adopt a completely new technical platform, developed for the Stellantis group as a whole. Its main advantage: it will allow adoption brand new 100% electric version. With batteries with a capacity of up to 104 kWh, the Peugeot e-3008 can reach 700 km of autonomy WLTP, and in this way throw a serious stone at bored electric SUVs. The base e-3008 will get a 240 hp engine, and a possible PSE version will reach 400 hp.

All other assortment will be hybrid, from a PureTech microhybrid with a capacity of 130 hp at least three hybrids (180, 225 and 300 hp).

Outside, however, Peugeot 3008 2023 will play succession and consensus. 408 will retain the role of a more “stylish” younger brother. The new Peugeot 3008 will be satisfied with the modernization of its light handwriting and slightly activate the silhouette. We are waiting inside a new evolution of the i-Cockpit architecture. The 3008 should restore the digital i-Toggles of the 308 and 408, that second center screen that brings together customizable shortcuts.

We meet in back to school 2023 ! On the other hand, we’ll have to wait until 2024 to see a 7-seat version of the 5008.

Citroën C3: affordable compact even in electric mode

The There is a Citroen C3 logically decisive for the manufacturer: it dominates the ranking of its sales. As a result, there is no question of revolutionizing the genre for this new generation approaching. It will be compact aesthetically modernizedand will acquire personality thanks to more aggressive touches inspired by the recent Oli concept, particularly at the level of the taillights.

The new C3 will continue Citroën’s strategy of becoming an affordable (but not cheap) Stellantis brand. To limit costs, he will restore CMP platform already well received Opel Corsa or Peugeot 208. Side engines, no revolution. The diesel logically disappears, but gasoline will be provided by a seriously revised 1.2 Puretech, with the arrival of a 48V micro-hybrid and chain distribution. Power will be, as desired, 80 or 110 hp. Finally, a electric version will be offered using Peugeot e-208 and Opel Corsa-e technology, among others. With 136 hp but a short range, it will be available for an entry ticket of around €20,000.

Citroën C3 Aircross: in the footsteps of a sedan

Unsurprisingly, the C3 Aircross will carry over much of the changes made to the C3 sedan. The same goals, the same effects: more aggressive features, the development of mechanics, the appearance of electricity and always competitive price, expected around 22,000 euros. It could even land a few months before the sedan, in June 2023.

DS 8: technological and electrical flagship of the entire group

Don’t be fooled by its name: the DS 8 electric SUV will do the trick a real standard bearer of the brand French premium, not a large sedan DS 9. Obvious reality after reading the expected data sheet: 5 m long, 680 hp. more than 650 km of autonomy. The DS 8, which will be based on the new STLA Medium electric platform from the Stellantis group, should push the DS into its 100% electric era.

Externally, DS 8 will not be timid either. The lines will be largely inspired by the concept of sharpness DS Aero Sport Lounge. The interior will be, as usual for the DS, especially neat, but will significantly increase in on-board technology.

Renault “Grand Austral”: attacking the Peugeot 5008

The recently launched Renault Austral is Losange’s answer to the Peugeot 3008. family for 7 places. It might be called the Grand Austral, but also the Espace… Like the 5008 versus the 3008, it will take up most of the compact SUV space with redesigned rear seats to accommodate a third row and more modularity.

Mini Aceman: a premium small electric SUV.

Heralded by a recent concept that bears his name, the Mini Iceman will become the “younger brother” of the Mini Countryman. The latter, which will be updated at the end of 2023, should grow on the BMW X1 platform. But with a length of only 4.05 m, the Aceman opens up a segment for the Mini. As a completely new model, it can slowly break free from codes of the historic Mini sedan, respecting its DNA.

Above all, The Mini Aceman will be 100% electric. History also to confront the recent Smart #1. The mechanics should be inspired by the current electric Mini, with a power of 184 hp, but with a larger battery (around 50 kWh). Essentially a city dweller, the Mini Aceman isn’t meant for logging kilometers on the highway. Inside, it will open a new presentation of the brand, in particular with a round screen of the most beautiful effect in the center.

Audi Q5: a little more softness for a large SUV

Since electric models have a special designation at Audi, there is no revolution in the assortment future SUV Audi Q5. The current engines will be completely updated, both gasoline and diesel microhybridizedand plug-in hybrid. From the outside, the Q5 will adopt a new look for the lineup, which will change significantly in the coming years. Inspired by recent ‘Sphere’ concepts, the front end will softer, less aggressive. Optics are refined and stretched, but the radiator grille remains gigantic.

Volkswagen Tiguan 3 (March 2023): The SUV is evolving

One of the best-selling models in the Volkswagen range, compact SUV Tiguan The third generation will be released in 2023. But we are not changing the winning recipe, and Volkswagen must carefully develop its star. Still sitting on the MQB platform (Golf, etc.), Tiguan 3 will not change much in its proportions. The styling will be more current, with a slightly more chiseled profile and perhaps a larger light signature at the rear.

Inside, the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan will be packed with technology, from equipment and screens to driver aids. It will be exclusively powered by hybrid powertrains, from 48V micro-hybrid gasoline and diesel engines to a hybrid engine that promises approximately 100 km range 100% electric. See you in March 2023!

Volkswagen ID.7: a large 100% electric sedan

Volkswagen continues to develop its 100% electric ID range. After the compact ID.3, SUV ID.4 and ID.5, but before the city car ID.2, here is…ID.7 ! It will be a large electric sedan. This will replace the Passat, which will not be updated as is. We already know its general appearance thanks to the ID.Aero concept. Not surprisingly, the very soft lines are similar to the rest of the family, particularly the ID.5.

Almost 5 meters long and more than 600 km of autonomy announced that the ID.7 is clearly aimed at the Tesla Model S, with less performance and a more affordable price on the menu. Production will begin at the end of 2023.
