It is likely to become one of the big stars of the upcoming Paris Motor Show, in a few days: Renault 4 of the future is coming! A new step in the electric and neo-retro strategy imprinted by CEO Luca de Meo, it will be positioned alongside the upcoming R5.

What is the difference compared to the R5? As then, the Renault 4 will play an entry-level role. Cheaper, more rustic but also more practical, however, it will restore the R5 platform. With an expected Auto Plus range of around 400 km at the starting price less than 20,000 euros, when it arrives in 2025, it should be a real mess. It can also be rejected in service versionfor example, for delivery around the city.

A true mini electric adventurer

But in the meantime, we can already study a few images concept car of the future presented by Renault. Starting with the silhouette: it clearly borrowed a lot fromthe world of SUVs. The ground clearance is increased, the wheels are large, and the tracks are very wide. She has it all, just like a mini adventurer! We also notice a lot of accessories aimed atadventurous spirit : box on the roof, storage space on the rear window, possible space for securing luggage on the hood…

But, obviously, the most noticeable detail remains light signature. Clearly similar to the 4L, the design takes basic forms: two round optics inserted into a rectangular grille. But logically, the details have been carefully worked out to project this Renault 4 into the future. The contours of the grille are illuminated by a light strip, as is the Renault logo. The headlights themselves continue to play neo-retro registerwith square searchlights inserted in a circle, which should serve as daytime running lights.

Presented to the public at the Mondial de l’Auto

As you can already tell, we can’t wait to discover this new Renault 4, or in any case, the concept that represents it. Appointment for this next October 17 : the Renault 4 concept will indeed be presented at the opening World Championship in Paris 2022. The central place of this Mondial should also be occupied by the Renault group with new products and concepts from Alpine, Dacia and Renault itself.
