Baxter 64 LDF from the French company Florium belongs to the category low-profile motorhomes. A silhouette well known to connoisseurs, the Baxter remains a sure value in the market. Recently, Florium offers a version “Pop out” Baxter, that is, with a retractable roof, which is very practical.

Classic exterior and Fiat engine

Externally, the Baxter 64 LDF has a classic silhouette. We find here Fiat Ducato base (Series 8) with a body made of polyester. As for the dimensions, we find the motorhome 6.47 meters long, 2.23 meters wide and 2.70 meters high. The curb weight is still 3.5 tonnes and the payload is 624kg. Nothing new in the silhouette of this compact profile. There is a large hold (door 45 x 90) at the rear.

The same level of motorization. Baxter 64 LDF is available from Fiat Multijet 2.2 liter 140 hp diesel engine or with Peugeot Blue Hdi diesel engine with a capacity of 140 hp. Everything will be associated with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Well thought out interior

Inside Baxter, a very friendly atmosphere, which is emphasized by the presence of benches located face to face. The Baxter easily seats five people thanks to the swiveling front seats. The kitchen area has two electric hobs, several storage areas and a Refrigerator 145 l. The visuals are quite good, with the space again proving to be very friendly.

In the continuation of the kitchen area, on the left, there is a large French bed that can accommodate two adults. Below is a large area for storing things, which turns out to be very practical. Next to the bedroom area is the bathroom area. The latter is a bit tight, but it is also well equipped. In terms of water capacity, the Baxter 64 LDF can accommodate 120 liters of clean water and 119 liters of waste water.

The big novelty of this mobile home is the lifting part. The latter, accessible by a ladder, offers an additional sleeping place. The size of the sleeping place is 118 x 190. An additional bedroom that can accommodate at least one adult.

Our opinion

If the Baxter 64 LDF doesn’t revolutionize the compact motorhome segment, it appears very functional and well equipped. Version “Pop out”, the cost of which is 4,000 euros, allows you to add additional space, making this mobile home even more functional. The Baxter 64 LDF will be available from €69,300. You’ll still have to pay nearly €75,000 for the well-equipped version.
