This is not the first time that a model of the Tesla brand has suffered from a battery problem, an important component for the proper functioning of electric vehicles. The American manufacturer really accumulates complaints from its customers and does not seem to want to find a solution to these problems.
This time, a Canadian motorist paid for these malfunctions: although his Tesla Model S, bought in 2013 for more than 140,000 Canadian dollars (about 105,500 euros), was refused to open, the brand demands at least $28,000 from him. to replace the battery!
Tesla Battery: Air Conditioning Problem?
Indeed, Mario Celaya posted a video on TikTok to explain the situation, and it has since been viewed more than 11 million times. According to the owner of this Model S, his Tesla is “totally dead”.
This battery problem seems to be related to a air conditioner condenser leak : liquid flows onto the battery, causing it to malfunction. The issue is known to the brand and has already been reported by several other drivers, but Tesla doesn’t seem to have found a solution. This will affect the 2013 and 2014 models.
@supermariozelaya My point: Tesla shut down my car over the air because of my videos after refusing to pay for a new battery. #tesla #car ♬ original sound by Mario Celaya
Tesla battery: exorbitant cost
According to Zelaya, he is unable to gain access to the machine again and it remains locked despite his numerous attempts. To solve this battery problem, Tesla is asking for no less than 28,000 USD (approximately 21,100 euros), the amount is appropriate battery replacement.
American manufacturer refuses to pay for repairsbecause the problem would have occurred after the end of the warranty, but according to the owner of the car, the problems started during the warranty period.
Tesla Battery: No solution found
Mario Celaya refuses to pay for repairs and wants to get rid of his car. Since it is locked and he cannot access his documents that were left inside, he simply asked the local authorities to renew them.
Now he wants to sell his Model S for $20,000, equivalent to approximately €15,000. If the new owner can fix this battery problem, even by paying the repair amount that Tesla is demanding, it could be a good deal for him… Meanwhile, Celaya said he would never buy You here : “Stay away from Tesla, they are terrible cars with terrible build quality”he said in a video on a well-known Chinese social network.
@supermariozelaya Reply @NoMoreBoobSweat I couldn’t agree more. People need to wake up. I was contacted by someone who is suing Tesla due to an almost identical problem to mine. I’m going to see if I can help them with their court case. Looking back, I would have had an extra $3 million if I had bought the stock instead of the car. 😂 #tesla #car ♬ original sound by Mario Celaya
