For adventurers looking for another alternative to a motorhome or camper, here it is Campworks NS-1 (for “Nomadic System 1”), a caravan that can be converted into a real mobile power station.
The project started in 2017 as a research project: Campworks founder Thomas Hoffman was a student at the University of Colorado at the time and wanted to develop solutions for living anywhere. Its first version caravan was launched last year, but this new version improves upon it by providing more power to allow EV owners to enjoy their forays into the great outdoors.
Campworks NS-1: durable and comfortable caravan
At 3.86 meters long, 2.26 meters wide and 2.13 meters high, the Campworks NS-1 is a caravan built for adventure with its solid construction, its firm running boards, its steel underbody fairing, its 48-centimeter raised ground clearance, and its 31-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires mounted on 17-inch TRD wheels. It allows access to any terrain and can also be supplemented with a roof tent accessible by ladder.
Also, the model has enhanced thermal insulation, a air conditioning 1500W plus a double bed and storage space inside. Behind is a kitchen set can be used outdoors with full equipment that includes a pull-out shelf, a two-burner stove, several storage spaces and LED lighting to enjoy alfresco dining during the evening.
Small, practical, inexpensive… Campervans are an alternative to classic homes on wheels. Is that right? https://t.co/If7nOgyuhd?utm_campaign=post-auto&utm_medium=twitter

Campworks NS-1: a true mobile power station
The strength of the Campworks NS-1 is its ability to stand a real mobile power station for adventures far from civilization: he is able to deliver power 5000 watts at 240 volts. For this he has a LiFePO4 battery (lithium-iron phosphate) from 5.5 kW/h capacity that can be increased to 11 kW/hand charge using a regular socket or its built-in solar panel 1840 W.
With several types of electrical outlets as well as USB connectors, the NS-1 allows you to power any type of electrical device, such as a refrigerator, on-board air conditioner, stove, lamps, mobile devices or even charge an electric car!
