Electric Porsche Panamera: by 2027?
According to the latest rumors, this new generation of the electric Porsche Panamera should not appear before the second generation of the Porsche Taycan: in fact, both models will be based on the new SSP (Scalable Systems Platform) of the Volkswagen concern, intended for electric vehicles.
This new platform will be launched in Porsche in 2027, and the German manufacturer is already working on this SSP platform to adapt it to the models of its brand to offer them more performance by lowering the center of gravity. They will also be equipped with an 800V system that will guarantee faster and more efficient recharging.
Electric Porsche Panamera: a new competitor on the market
Thus, the future electric Porsche Panamera should hit the market by 2027, and will have larger dimensions than the current model, with an increased wheelbase.
This new Panamera will then compete with large 100% electric luxury sedans such as the Mercedes EQS or the Lucid Air. Other players such as China’s BYD are also expected in this segment and will therefore be among the new competitors that Porsche will find on its way by the end of the decade.
