As we know, it’s not a very festive time for car manufacturers. And it is not for nothing that they suffer from many crises related to the shortage of semiconductors, the epidemic of Covid-19 and logistical problems related to the war in Ukraine. Not to mention the rising prices of raw materials and the environmental requirements of state bodies. In short, things are not so rosy, and almost no brand is spared from these difficulties. In this situation, it is not surprising that sales figures are very low. And, to tell the truth, since 2020 registration are at an all-time low and the market is in free fall. But it seems to be better.
There is one exception to the end of sales of diesel cars in 2035, voted by the European Parliament: luxury cars (Ferrari, etc.). Of course, there are not many of them, so the emissions will be limited, but for the symbol and social justice will have to be ironed pic.twitter.com/6gPS9lc6ZE

A small increase
Indeed, new car sales rose very slightly during August, according to the latest CCFA figures. Be careful, growth remains subdued and numbers are still very low. However, the organization reported overall growth of 3.8%, while year-to-date sales were down 13.8% compared to last year. Among the manufacturers is a group Stellantis doing well, up 14.2%, while Renault fell 15.4%. Dacia, however, rose 13.1%. Fiat sales increased by 45.2% compared to 37.2% for Opel, which is quite satisfactory. Instead, Jeep has become cheaper by 50.6%.
Peugeot 208 leads the way
Looking at the details of the models, the Peugeot 208 still performs best when it leads the ranking. Therefore, it is ahead of Renault Clio and the new one Dacia Sandero, as well as Citroën C3. The Peugeot 2008 arrives at the foot of the podium, followed by the Renault Captur and the new Peugeot 308. The Tesla Model Y is also doing very well, with 4,713 units sold since the start of the year. The SUV, however, remains behind the Model 3 with 8,063 registered units.
