Leo will not rest on his laurels in 2023! While the Stellantis group has just recorded record profits and Peugeot is enjoying the popularity of its new 308, the manufacturer is gearing up for a big year in 2023. There are at least 6 new items on the menu! Here is the program…
Peugeot 408: SUV-coupe on the market from the beginning of 2023
Introduced a few weeks ago, the Peugeot 408 is atypical in the manufacturer’s range. Type an elevated sedan with a coupe profileits bright style and much more interior space than other products of the brand have already conquered many people.
We will have to wait until early 2023 to see its marketing, even if prices and first tests are published from the end of autumn 2022. So we’ll have a chance to talk about it again soon!
Peugeot Rifter (February): An updated MPV
The MPV in the range, the Peugeot Rifter, will get a major facelift. In addition toa more cohesive look compared to the rest of the range (light signature etc) it wins 48 V mild hybrid engines, but electric versions are unlikely to develop. On the other hand, you will find a set of more modern equipment. Task: to face the new Renault Kangoo.
Peugeot 508 (March): Last stand for the Lion sedan
Released in 2018, Peugeot 508 will undergo restyling in 2023. But in the meantime, the sedan segment continued to grow in France and Europe. Especially since the big cat is now competed with the Peugeot 408with a more fashionable style and excellent living comfort.
To finish off in style, the 508 will go for a more eye-catching look that may well be inspired by the Le Mans hypercar, the 9X8. On the engine side, the diesel could well fail. As for gasoline, like the rest of the lineup, the focus will be on micro-hybrids to lower the sedan’s emissions. with plug-in hybrids a new generation will come, but the future of the sports range508 PSE, not insured.
Peugeot 208 (June): modifications for the queen of sales
Since its launch in 2019, the Peugeot 208 II has not been shy about its record. Voted European Car of the Year in 2020, then it goes up is often a top seller, all categories together, in Europe. A big success for a city car! Its electric version, the e-208, is also well received in the small electric segment.
In short, it makes sense that Peugeot is carefully retouching its star. Like the rest of the range, it will be accepted stretched lattice, surrounded by more prominent fangs, and above all welcomes the new Peugeot crest. From inside, bigger screens taken from 308 and 408 should appear.
On the technical side, you don’t change the winning team. Giving the choice between thermal or electric seems like a win-win for a city car that won’t change its tune. Thermals, on the other hand, need to get some electricity and become microhybrids with a 48 V system, like most of the rest of the line. The classic version of the e-208 should not replace the batteries or the engine (136 hp), but can slightly optimize its autonomy. On the other hand, there are rumors that a more powerful electric PSE could be coming…
Peugeot 3008 III (September): the most important novelty of the year?
Launched in 2016 Peugeot 3008 II delivered a hellish blow to the anthill of compact SUVs. Sharp styling, an impressive interior, a chassis with small bulbs, it largely dominated the competition, and in particular the Renault Kadjar.
But recently, the Renault empire has counterattacked with the Arkana SUV coupe in iron condition and the Austral, which wants to erase the weak points of the Kadjar. In a word, the new 3008 will not be able to rest on its laurels.
He will also adopt a completely new technical platform, developed for the Stellantis group as a whole. Its main advantage: it will allow adoption brand new 100% electric version. With batteries with a capacity of up to 104 kWh, the Peugeot e-3008 can reach 700 km of autonomy WLTP, and in this way throw a serious stone at bored electric SUVs. The base e-3008 will get a 240 hp engine, and a possible PSE version will reach 400 hp.
All other assortment will be hybrid, from a PureTech microhybrid with a capacity of 130 hp at least three hybrids (180, 225 and 300 hp).
Outside, however, Peugeot 3008 2023 will play succession and consensus. 408 will retain the role of a more “stylish” younger brother. The new Peugeot 3008 will be satisfied with the modernization of its light handwriting and slightly activate the silhouette. We are waiting inside a new evolution of the i-Cockpit architecture. The 3008 should restore the digital i-Toggles of the 308 and 408, that second center screen that brings together customizable shortcuts.
We meet in back to school 2023 ! On the other hand, we’ll have to wait until 2024 to see a 7-seat version of the 5008.
Peugeot 2008 (October): in the footsteps of the 208
Like the 208 a few months earlier, the urban crossover Peugeot 2008 will undergo a restyling box. Like a city car, the purpose is, on the one hand, in modernize the appearance of the modelbut above all to transfer the heat engines of the sauce microhybrid. Using a small battery, the PureTech 1.2L units will be supported by a 48V system to reduce emissions and consumption.
As with the 208, we don’t expect a major upgrade to the electric version, the e-2008. But some optimizations (software, aero) should allow you to gain some kilometers in the WLTP cycle and in real life.
