A few days ago we told you about a major recall campaign organized by Kia in Europe for EV6 owners. The object of this was an electronic failure, which was then prevented handbrake, parking brake function properly and caused an unexpected shutdown. At first glance, it is an insignificant problem that can obviously have serious consequences, especially if it happens, for example, when a driver is driving in the fast lane. Be that as it may, that’s why there are several thousand copies of the upgraded electric compact car that have to go back to the garage for repairs. But the matter is not over yet, far from it. Indeed, now it’s another model’s turn to suffer from this problem…

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was also affected
Indeed, now the owners of Hyundai Ioniq 5 suffer from the same problem. And there is nothing surprising in this, since both cars are cousins and have a lot in common, starting with the technical base and on-board technologies. Therefore, it is logical that both, unfortunately, suffer from the same problems. So Hyundai has also launched a massive recall campaign, first in the United States and then more recently in Europe. in electric crossover Korean has the same problem with the parking brake, which luckily can be easily fixed with a simple update. For this, you still need to visit the workshop.
Approximately 4000 copies
At the moment, the exact number of units recalled in France remains unknown, but it could be around 4,000. Interested owners should quickly get a message from their Hyundai dealer to go to a garage for a free repair. This problem affected units that were assembled between September 10, 2020 and May 3, 2022, that is, those homologated according to type CE e9*2018/858*11054* on a gray card.
