If you’ve ever been on a night drive, you probably know that the conditions are far from favorable for safe driving. Apart from the fact that it is very dark and that the visibility is not very optimal, there are also many dangers, such as the risk of seeing an animal crossing right in front of you. Not to mention fatigue and lack of attention, which can then cause accidents, regardless of whether you are driving outside the city or in the open area. According to Traffic safety, then the risk of a collision is seven times higher than in the middle of the day when driving at night. Therefore, manufacturers are working on the development of new technologies to reduce risks. And Ford seems to have a promising solution!

Practical technology

In a video published on Youtube, the American brand presents a completely new innovative technology. These are high-definition lights capable of projecting various information onto the road, such as speed or the presence of a roundabout or intersection. But that’s not all, as these next-generation headlights can also signal slippery road surfaces by displaying a snowflake-shaped icon right in front of the driver. Therefore, he no longer needs to take his eyes off the road, as information is now projected directly onto it. Note that these lights are also capable of projecting the size of the car to see if it can fit into a parking space.

The system has already been seen

To tell the truth, this technology, if very promising, is not entirely new. Indeed, Volkswagen has also been working on this for several years, as has Mercedes. Moreover, the German firm already sells this system, baptized Digital light on the most premium models such as S-Class and EQS. For its part, Ford isn’t yet saying whether the system will soon be offered on a production model while it’s still in development. So you still have to be a little patient before you learn more.
