Mullinerthe personalization department of the manufacturer from Crewe, presented two years ago Bentley Bakalar : a two-seater convertible inspired by the Bentley EXP 100 GT concept car, and technically derived from the Continental GTC: however, all body parts are new and made exclusively by Mulliner for this exclusive model.

Therefore, it is a particularly rare model, since it exists limited to only 12 copies : their production is now ending. Eight examples have already been delivered to their respective owners, while the final four are currently being completed in Bentley’s workshops before heading for delivery.

Bentley Mulliner Bacalar: 12 unique models

Each instance of Bentley Bacalar is unique: 12 cars are distinguished by an individual body color, as well as an interior carefully designed by customers. Each model required the equivalent of approx six months of work.

“Bacalar’s design is an exercise in imagination, with individual materials, colors and finishes on virtually every interior and exterior surface. Whatever your personal style, whether it’s a bold ‘Yellow Flame’ exterior color with Rice Husk Ash or a more subtle ‘Moss Green’ color that pays tribute to Bentley’s heritage, design your own hand-trimmed trim or co-create a unique fabric, Bacalar offers you all these opportunities »says Maria Mulder, Bentley Color, Materials and Finish Manager.

Bentley Mulliner Bacalar: eco-friendly materials

Every Bacalar has sustainable and ethical materialsexemplified by the EXP 100 GT concept car, such as rice husk ash that provides a long-lasting metallic paint finish, natural British wool or 5,000-year-old Riverwood wood.

No fewer than 148,199 stitches were needed to create the interior of each Bacalar, which also features precious inlays and unique trim: unheard of for a Bentley.

Bentley Mulliner Bacalar: a new project in the future

One of the exclusive copies of the Bentley Bacalar was exhibited at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, after which it was handed over to its owner by the boss of the brand. It featured a Sunset Orange color contrasted with satin carbon inserts, and 22-inch Dark Satin Gray wheels with polished faces and gloss black inserts. Meanwhile, the corresponding interior combines white and black leather with orange accents.

This Bentley Bacalar won’t be the last low-production project for the new Mulliner body, quite the contrary: Bentley’s Advanced Personalization department has already announced thata new project is underway preparation, the details of which will be revealed soon.
