Everything that the great Michael Schumacher touched has recently become legendary. First of all, these objects and cars acquire sometimes crazy values, grabbed by collectors. And here is a special single-seat car, which should not be an exception to the rules. The chassis of the 1998 Ferrari F300 187 could well achieve an astronomical sum at RM Sotheby’s auction.
Ferrari F300 187 chassis: 4 wins in 4 races!
Michael Schumacher’s most successful, undefeated car will be offered at our Monterey sale. F300 #187 is one of the most iconic Ferrari F1 cars in existence. Schumacher won four victories in the 1998 Formula 1 season with this car. https://t.co/KiSWWEtvyn pic.twitter.com/Ibd0tE2oyQ

Indeed, this Formula 1 holds prominent place in history Scuderia Ferrari. Registered at the start of 4 Grands Prix, he won them all, in the hands of Michael Schumacher at the top of his game. To use RM Sotheby’s somewhat confusing qualification, this chassis is the most victorious among those who have never lost a race in a Ferrari. Apparently other Ferrari chassis have won all their races. But they never started more than two Grand Prix.
Chassis are more victorious in F1, there are several. Example, Brawn BGP-001 Chassis 2 is one of the most legendary. The Brawn team, born from the ashes of Honda, is penniless and can only build three chassis for the entire F1 season. Chassis #2 is credited to Jenson Button. At his wheel, he wins 6 of the first 7 raceson the way to the world championship title.
Definitely a special Ferrari
Extremely rare and forever associated with one of the all-time racing legends, Michael Schumacher. #187 is the only undefeated Ferrari chassis to compete in at least three races. For the first time ever, it will be publicly offered for sale next month in Monterey. https://t.co/KiSWWEtvyn pic.twitter.com/BLR5IZH4wW

As you can see, RM Sotheby’s, true to its role as an auction house, plays with words a bit. But still, this Ferrari F300 is very special thanks to its role in a legendary season, its four victories and, above all, its ex-Schumacher status in a single-seater. At the end of a stormy season, “Shumi” had to lose to Hakkinen, but only slightly. His victories behind the wheel of the F300 chassis 187 allowed him to return to flying Finn and his McLaren. Tifosi also owe him victory in Monzaat home, and “187” also won 1998 French Grand Prix.
The Scuderia kept this #187 F300 until the end of the following season, in 1999, before selling it with some spare parts to a private buyer. After 23 years, it was he who entrusted it to RM Sotheby’s without modifying it, without restoring it and without even showing it to the public. So a great opportunity for the informed collector…and deep pockets. Want to make a bet? Go to the auction house’s website or directly to Monterey, CA to see the big sale that is coming up next August 20.
