Even though the two years of the pandemic were characterized by a lack of economic predictability and strong exchange rate fluctuations, and 2022 arrived with massive inflation, household net worth increased worldwide. One reason is rising asset prices.

According to the Global Wealth Report published by Credit Suisse, it will grow by 9.8% in 2021. This is the largest annual increase ever recorded.

By the end of 2021, global wealth reached 463.6 trillion dollars, and 62.5 million dollar millionaires worldwide.

The leaders in terms of the number of millionaires and household wealth are China and the USA.

At the level of Romania, the total wealth is 640 billion dollars. The average wealth of Romanians per adult is $20,389.
