Netanyahu is “in good shape and beginning to recover,” his office said after Sunday night’s surgery, which has been closely watched as Israel battles Hamas in the Gaza Strip for nearly six months.

That same evening, thousands of Israelis demonstrated in Jerusalem demanding the resignation of Netanyahu and the release of Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip, at a time when negotiations to reach an agreement to allow such releases have stalled.

According to AFP data based on Israeli data, the war was triggered by an unprecedented attack by Hamas on Israeli territory on October 7, which killed 1,160 people, mostly civilians.

Israel has vowed to destroy Hamas and launched a military operation in the Gaza Strip that has killed 32,782 people, mostly civilians, according to the Islamist movement’s Health Ministry. (Agerpress)
