
Defender, the British brand of Land Rover, is preparing a new version of its iconic SUV: called Okta’s defenderit already promises to be a concentrate of high permeability.
A high-end model for adventure
The Land Rover Defender was recently renamed Defender “shortened”, following the desire of the JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) group to split its models into four different brands: Defender, Discovery, Range Rover and Jaguar. A model looking to find a place against the recently facelifted Mercedes G-Class will soon gain an advantage new exclusive version : Defender Octa.

While waiting to learn more, the British manufacturer has just released the first information about the Defender Octa, accompanied by a series of teaser photos. Defender Octa already presents itself as the future flagship of the brand: it will be the strongest, most efficient and most luxurious model in the line.
Defender Octa: specific V8 engine and suspension
Under the hood we will find a powerful Biturbo V8 gasoline engine with microhybridizationand the Defender will receive for the first time Air suspension 6D Dynamics, to offer greater comfort and performance on and off the road. Interlinked 6D Dynamics hydraulic technology helps control pitch and roll, reducing wheel wobble under acceleration and dive under braking while handling the most challenging transitions.
Defender Octa will be different specific logos, which have the shape of an octahedron inscribed in a circle: this shape is inspired by the diamond, synonymous with hardness and rarity. This logo will be found on the exterior on a machined and sandblasted titanium disc attached to the vehicle’s side panels. The Octa logo can also be found inside, on the steering wheel.
Awaiting the official unveiling, the Defender Octa continues to be tested on the road in a variety of conditions, from the snow and ice of Sweden to the desert of Dubai, through the Nürburgring and the rocky terrain of Moab.
Defender Octa will be officially presented in during 2024. The firm is already inviting its potential customers to take part in exclusive previews during Defender Elements events.
