Cadillac, in the collective European imagination, is one of those American manufacturers that fans admire “American way of life”with big cars equipped with big engines with colors that sometimes scream.
Except times have changed and Cadillac now only makes big V8s, it also does electrics. And on occasion The brand returns to Europe through the official network, and the first model to install wheels in France will be the Lyriq.
Cadillac Lyriq in several pictures
This is a large SUV with a length of 4.99 meters and, by the way, the first 100% electric model of the manufacturer. Introduced in 2020, Cadillac Lyriq became the ambassador of many novelties of the premium brand General Motors. In short, the Lyriq is a new aesthetic signature for Cadillac, with a completely redesigned front end, especially clean lines, an impressive interior, especially thanks to the huge 33-inch screen, and of course the arrival of a new electric motor. .
The Lyriq will be available with rear- or all-wheel drive, including a capacious 102kWh battery for declared autonomy of 530 km and a maximum charging power of 150 kW. Those numbers aren’t enough to shake up certain electric models that are already well-established here, but General Motors is nonetheless looking to “Redefining American Luxury in the Years to Come”, making the Lyriq a spiritual successor to the very refined Cadillac Escalade. The model develops 528 hp.
Expensive, but cheaper than competitors
The Lyriq offers a free choice between two trim levels, namely Luxury and Sport. Finishes that can also be found in BMW. Standard equipment is quite generous, which is good because the model still starts with 81,200 euros. Obviously, don’t expect any environmental bonus. This may sound high, and it is, but compared to its main German competitors, the Lyriq is slightly lower. The price of BMW iX starts from 84,200 euros, Audi SQ8 e-tron — from 89,100 euros, SUV Mercedes EQE — from 84,900 euros.
And while German manufacturers still charge for countless options, almost everything comes standard with Cadillac.
