UTA Arad got the Romanian Superliga play-offs off to the right start with an impressive 4-3 home win over FC Voluntari, with Florin Pirvu making his debut on the bench for Ilfoveni.

UTA Arad – FC Voluntari 4-3

In Florin Pirvo’s debut on the bench for Ilfoveni, the visitors made a strong start against Arad and missed two crucial scoring opportunities through Nemec and Dumiter.

In the 28th minute, the German opened the scoring with a perfect header.

The guests’ response did not take long. Entering the field instead of Freitas, Machado restored the tie with a wonderful shot from the penalty area (min. 38).

In the extra time of the first half, Voluntariul managed to take the lead again thanks to the success of Ihor Armash.

The second half followed, which the home team started brilliantly. Omondi returned the balance to the table with a header (min. 50).

Dumiter came close to putting the Volunteers back in front, but his shot was blocked by Jakob.

Aradka struck, who scored the third goal through Tudori, perfectly served by Mikovski (min. 80).

The visitors did not give up and scored again, through Merlois (min. 90+2), but the “Old Signora” had the last word. Mircea Rednich’s team scored a decisive goal in the sixth minute of overtime thanks to Joao Pedro.
