A driver from Craiova was caught driving without a driver’s license and with an alcohol level of 2.97 g/l, News.ro reports. The man was remanded in custody for 30 days.

Representatives of the police inspectorate of Dolj county reported that a 51-year-old man from Kraiova is being investigated for committing crimes related to driving a vehicle without a driver’s license and driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other intoxication.

“During the day of March 14, the police found a man driving a car on Pelendava Street, in the municipality of Craiova, without having a valid driver’s license of any category of vehicle with him. The driver was also checked with a breathalyzer, 1.10 mg/l of pure alcohol was detected in the exhaled air, the man was taken to a medical institution for taking biological samples, where a concentration of 2.97 g/l was detected. Pure alcohol was detected in the blood,” the police said.

He was detained for 24 hours and taken to the Detention and Preventive Arrest Center at the Dolj District Police Inspectorate.

The man was brought before the court, which ordered him to be remanded in custody for 30 days.
