Novak Djokovic, who was eliminated early from Indian Wells, will not participate in the “ATP Masters 1000” tournament in Miami, reports Serbian journalist Sasha Ozmo.
Novak Djokovic will not participate in the Miami Masters
After losing to Luca Nardi in the California desert tournament, Nole said he would decide in the coming days whether he would compete in the Florida tournament.
According to the source, the Serbian will not play in the tournament in Miami, which he won six times in his career (2007, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016).
Djokovic started the worst season of his career (without winning a title) after crashing out in the semi-finals at the Australian Open and in the third round at Indian Wells.
The clay season is likely to come for the Serb. The Masters tournament in Monte Carlo will be held from April 7 to 14.
It will become known after the defeat of Novak Djokovic against Luka Nardi
- This is the first defeat in Nole’s career against a lucky loser, the Italian managed to reach the 1/8 finals of the Masters tournament (ATP 1000) for the first time.
- Luca Nardi is the lowest ATP ranked player (No. 123) to beat Djokovic at a Masters or Grand Slam since 2008.
- The Italian became only the fourth lowest-ranked player in the world to beat the world number one at the Masters.
- The others were Francisco Clavet (178th against Lleyton Hewitt), Thanasi Kokkinakis (175th against Roger Federer) and Vasek Pospishil (129th against Andy Murray).
