The 33-year-old Dane (204th place in the world ranking) won the match against another WTA veteran: Angelique Kerber (36 years old – 607th place in the world ranking).

A 6-4, 6-2 win for Wozniacki followed a match in which the Scandinavian produced some of her best tennis, making inspired choices at crucial moments and securing an undisputed victory in a match that lasted one hour and 24 minutes.
