Gabriela Ruse failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the ITF W75 tournament in Trnava after losing to Jana Fett of Croatia 6-2, 7-6(11) in the quarters.

Slovakia’s eighth-seeded Ruse failed to make it to the semifinals, ahead of the Croatian, who is ranked 174th in the world.

Yana Fett won the first set at speed, but in the second set, the Romanian put up more resistance and went to a tiebreak.

With many mistakes on both sides, Rousse did not give up easily and Fett missed no less than four match points.

The game lasted two hours and 13 minutes.

Gabriela was also present in the doubles, where she teamed up with Miriam Bulgaru, but both Romanians lost in the first round to Veronika Falkowska/Fanny Stollar (Poland/Hungary – 4 favourites) 7-5, 3-6, 10- 4.
