Germany: Working from home is here to stay, says study

Working from home is not such a new norm for many German workers, a study says. More than a third of service sector workers do their work remotely, at least part of the time.

German economic research institute Ifo says that working from home is now integrated into the country’s work culture – at least in some areas of employment.

Figures show that the services sector in particular appears to have permanently switched to working from home since the coronavirus pandemic.

Almost a quarter of workers in Germany – 24.1% – worked at least partially from home in February.
