
March 2024 will be a very busy month for cycling fans with many heritage races taking place in the coming weeks. The debut will take place this weekend.
March cycling races live on Eurosport
Two week-long tours and the first classic race in Italy await cycling fans in the coming days. After Omloop Het Niewsblad kicked off the spring races of the European UCI World Tour a week ago, it’s time for Italy, France and Belgium to take center stage in the world of cycling.
It takes place on Saturday, March 2 Bianke streets, an iconic spring race held in Tuscany. Dirt roads are a key feature of the race, which Tadej Pohachar aims to restore after his 2022 victory. The Slovenian is one of the main favorites this year, along with the winner of the last competition, Tom Pidcock. The race will be broadcast on Eurosport 2 from 15:00 and will be preceded by a similar women’s race from 13:00.
Sunday brings the first day Paris – Nice or the “Race to the Sun”, a tour that this year consists of eight stages and starts in the northwest of the French capital and ends on the Mediterranean coast in Nice. Among the favorites to win this year are Remko Evenepol and Primozh Roglich, with the latter becoming the winner in 2022.
Tirreno – Adriatic This year again coincides with Paris – Nice and starts on Monday 4th March with an individual time trial stage on the Lido di Camaiore. The “Race of the Two Seas” will continue until Sunday, when a new winner will be announced in San Benedetto del Tronto. Over the next week, Eurosport 2 will broadcast the legs of the two tours back-to-back, starting at 14:05.
The second half of March will also see the first two spring cycling events on Eurosport. It takes place on March 16 Milan – San Remo, the longest one-day race on the UCI World Tour calendar. A true test of endurance, the race was won last year by Mathieu van der Poel, who is looking to defend his title in 2024, live on Eurosport 2.
Other classic spring races are also held in March, such as Brugge de Panne, Clasica E3, Gent - Wevelgem and Dwars door Vlaadnderen. It’s all happening in Belgium, whetting the appetite for cycling ahead of the second Monument of the year, broadcast on Eurosport 1.
March 31 Tour of Flanders will name its winner at the final in Oudenaarde.
