New Renault 5 E-Tech (2024): already in dealerships! Auto Plus news in your smartphone

A fun process

It’s been more than three years since the Renault 5 E-Tech was announced, first as a very promising concept car due in 2021. Therefore, it is a very long wait for the manufacturer to present many models such as the Scénic E-Tech or the Renault Rafale, both present at the last Munich exhibition. But now, after three years, it is finally the turn of the production version of the small electric city car to see the light, this time at the Geneva Motor Show, which has just opened its doors. Although deliveries are not expected immediately, the car can already be seen in dealerships. But how is that possible, because production hasn’t even started yet? Well, that’s thanks augmented reality, which is available in the salons of the brand. A smart process that allows customers to visualize exactly what the new star of the diamond brand looks like, almost in real life.

Launch is inevitable

So, that’s enough scan the QR code to the ground with your smartphone to see the car appear on its screen. Then you can turn around like a real vehicle. It remains to be seen if all dealerships offer this animation at this time. By the way, Renault 5 E-Tech offers up to 400 km of autonomy depending on the WLT cycleP, with two battery options available: one with 40 kWh for 310 km of autonomy and another with 52 kWh for the desired 400 km. The city car will also be available in different power outputs, from 95 to 150 horsepower, and can be charged from 15 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes using direct current. If the final price has not yet been officially announced, the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric should indeed be under €25,000 in the entry-level version. But when it launches, it will initially be sold in its most expensive versions, probably around €35,000.
