On Tuesday evening, on Radio Dobruja, Archbishop Tomis was asked why the ministers of the Orthodox Church wear beards.

  • “It’s natural. Beards are left to men. There are exceptions, white people who don’t grow beards, and some of them who would like to have one are sad.
  • A man must have a beard. Beardless men are crazy. Every man should wear a beard, especially the ministers of the Orthodox Church. They should have the image of Christ wearing a beard. They were also worn by the apostles and all the fathers of our Church.
  • The beard is a natural element that belongs to the male gender, and all the more so servants should wear this ornament left by God,” said the archbishop of Tomis, quoted by News.ro.
