
Ukraine signed on Saturday new security agreements with Italy and Canada, similar to the ten-year ones already concluded with Great Britain, Germany, France and Denmark, agreements aimed at supporting Ukraine’s security before its accession to NATO, Reuters reports. , AFP and EFE, quoted by Agerpres.

In all such agreements, Ukraine’s allies undertake to provide it with military and other types of assistance (support for the Ukrainian military industry, training of Ukrainian soldiers, cooperation in the transfer of information, support for cyber defense, etc.) in order for it to resist the ongoing war. and possible future conflicts with Russia, assuming a peace agreement is reached to end the current conflict.
The agreements also contain secret annexes and are temporary commitments offered to Ukraine before joining NATO.
For example, under this agreement, Canada will provide Ukraine with about 2.2 billion dollars in financial and military aid this year, according to a source in the Canadian government.
Zelensky thanked Maloney and Trudeau for the signed agreements. “Today, Ukraine is clearly stronger than two years ago,” the Ukrainian president wrote in a Telegram message regarding these agreements, about which he did not provide specific details.
