Anna Kalinska lost to Jasmin Paolini in the final of the WTA tournament in Dubai

The victory in the semifinals against Sorana Kirstea inspired the Italian Jasmine Paolini (26 WTA), who won the trophy from the United Arab Emirates.

Anna Kalinska (40 WTA) started the match better and won the first set, but Paolini made a great comeback in the second act and turned the match into a decider.

Having made three successful breaks, the Italian made the difference in the third set and won after two hours and 16 minutes of play.

28-year-old Jasmine Paolini won the WTA 1000 title for the first time in her career and will jump 12 positions in the world ranking to 14th place.

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships was held from February 18 to 24 on hard, is part of the “WTA 1000” category and has a total prize pool of $3,211,715. Simona Halep won the tournament in 2015 and 2020, and the reigning champion was Barbora Krejcikova.
