Dacia spring 2024 – range, engines, weight and battery

The promised autonomy is more than 220 km for all versions (homologation in progress), “more than enough for drivers with daily routes of 37 km per day” (according to data collected by Dacia through systems connected to the car).

Battery 26.8 kWh. The promised energy consumption is below 14.6 kWh/100 km. The car comes standard with a 7kW AC charger that allows the battery to be charged from 20% to 100% from a home outlet in less than 11 hours, or in just 4 hours with a 7kW wall box. A 30kW DC charger is available as an option, providing fast charging from 20% to 80% in just 45 minutes.

At 3.70m long, the Spring remains the smallest model in the range (the Sandero is 4.09m long), but the good part is the ease of handling.

As with other models of the brand, the intermediate version of the “Expression” was sandwiched between the Essential and Extreme versions.

Dacia launched the Spring, its first electric car, in 2021, and since then 140,000 units have been registered, of which more than 15,000 are in Romania.

The new Spring now has a 65 hp/48 kW engine in more versions. This is available on both the Expression and Extreme trim levels. As for the 45 hp engine, it’s available on both the Essential and Expression trims.

The company claims that the Spring is the only electric car that weighs less than one ton (984 kg), and thanks to its reduced weight, the new Spring consumes less energy and thus benefits from increased autonomy, as well as being more efficient, Dacia officials say . Compared to the 2020 version, the weight has increased by 6 kg.

The new spring is available in six shades, including the trade names ‘Beige Safari’ and ‘Brick Red’.

Dacia says new Spring has ‘completely new design’

“The new spring uses new design elements introduced by the third-generation Duster model. The model has a “more solid look” and the interior has been completely redesigned. According to the company, the hood is the only body component retained from the previous generation.

Dacia says the car has “exceptional interior storage space for its segment.”

The dashboard is completely new

The Spring now has a 7-inch color digital instrument cluster available on all trim levels, and a 10-inch center screen on higher trim levels. The color palette and materials used for the interior have been updated to ensure the highest quality, but with a variety of important options to control costs,” the company says.

What Dacia says about the design of the new Spring

“A special detail of the new Spring is two black stripes located both at the level of the calender and across the side of the tailgate, between the rear optical units. The Y-shaped light signature, similar to the new generation Duster, is present both in the front light units with LED technology and in the rear.

The modern design of the new Spring is emphasized by special decals reminiscent of the streetscape of the city, located on the front and rear bumpers, available in the Extreme configuration. The 15-inch wheels, now available as standard on the 65 hp engine versions, contribute to the new model’s rugged appearance.”

The boot is generous with a total volume of 308 litres, which is 6% more than the previous model, or 1004 liters with the rear seats folded – more than similarly sized competitors and on a par with similar models in the B-segment

For two years in a row, in 2022 and 2023, Spring ranked third in Europe in the ranking of the best-selling electric cars for private customers.

in 2022, the model adopted a new visual identity of the brand, and in 2023, it received a more powerful engine with a capacity of 65 hp.
