​Jan-Lennard Struff and Alejandro Davydovich Fokina crashed out of the first round of the ATP tournament in Doha, losing to Christopher O’Connell and Jakub Mensik, respectively.

Jan-Lennard Struff and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, defeat in the first round of ATP Doha

Jan-Lennard Struff (25 ATP) was defeated in the first round of the ATP tournament in Doha. The sixth seed, he lost in straight sets to Australia’s Christopher O’Connell (65 ATP) 6-4, 6-4 after a match that lasted one hour and 33 minutes.

Also on Tuesday, Alejandro Davidovych Fokina (24 ATP) was also eliminated in the first round in Doha, suffering a surprise loss to Jakub Mensik (116 ATP).

It took the athlete from the Czech Republic one hour and 34 minutes to put an end to the controversy with a score of 7-6(3), 6-4.

In the second round, Christopher O’Connell will meet Emile Ruusuvuori (43 ATP), while Jakub Mensik will fight for a place in the quarters against the winner of the match between Alexander Muller (75 ATP) and Andy Murray (50 ATP).

The Qatar Open is an ATP 250 tournament and will be held from February 19 to 24. The game is played on a hard surface and the total prize pool is $1,395,875. The champion of the title is Daniil Medvedev.
